Daily Roster: Sending messages to Company Devices

We’ve made it easier and more flexible to communicate with associates directly from the Daily Roster. You can now choose exactly how messages are delivered — whether via SMS to personal phones, SMS to assigned company devices, or email.

🧭 Where to Find It

From the Daily Roster, you can send messages such as:

  • Roster Assignments

  • Vehicle Photo Log Links

  • Custom Messages

  • Incomplete Roster Checklist Links

  • Stand-Up Announcements

Each of these message options now includes delivery method controls.

⚙️ How It Works

When you open any of the “Send” message screens, you’ll now see a new section labeled “Send this message via...” with three options above the Send button:

  • SMS to Associate’s Personal Phone – Sends the message to associates who have opted in to receive SMS on their personal phones.

    • If one or more selected associates have opted out, a note will appear listing their names so you know who won’t receive the SMS.

  • SMS to Associate’s Assigned Device on the Daily Roster – Sends the message to associates who have an assigned company device with a phone number.

  • Email – Sends the message to associates who have opted in to receive emails.

    • If one or more associates have opted out of emails, their names will be listed under this option as well.

📱 Communication Preferences

In both the Associate Record (for Hera users) and the Associate Preferences screen (for associates), the SMS option has been updated to “Receive SMS on Personal Phone.”
Associates can control this preference themselves by sending START or STOP to your company's Hera number or by using the unsubscribe link included in emails.

To find your company's number, head to Company Details in your Company Settings.

🧠 Important Note

This new functionality currently applies only to messages sent from the Daily Roster. Other areas in Hera may not yet recognize whether an associate is rostered with a device.
